The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, our Queensland section delivers extensive primary health care and 24-hour aeromedical emergency service, from nine strategic bases to those who live, work and travel throughout the State.
Royal Flying Doctor Service - Queensland Section (RFDS Qld) now has a newly created opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our team. This role is based at 5-7 Lobelia Circle, Brisbane International Airport, and is being offered on a full-time, 12 month contract basis, with extension likely for the right person.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a critical role within the business with the mandate to develop and document the business requirements for new projects being developed by RFDS. This will include a review of legacy systems and current operations, with the view to reduce manually driven processes and drive a transitional period to improved automation systems and communication pathways.
You will support the development, review and monitoring of the organisation's Strategic Plan and the tactical implementation of strategic initiatives through projects.

To be considered for this position you must possess considerable, demonstrated experience in a Business Analyst or similar role, with a strong understanding of contemporary IT practices and systems. Any experience gained within the health and/or aviation sectors will be well regarded.
High-level project management skills, with an ability to apply these skills to deliver outputs and business benefits across a multidisciplinary environment, will be a must. You will have a sound understanding of the principles of risk management and how to apply them in a project-driven environment, and you will have the ability to apply critical analytical skills to examine complex problems and develop and implement innovative solutions.
Importantly, RFDS is looking for someone with strong interpersonal, negotiation, consultation and communication skills appropriate to all stakeholders. You will be passionate about learning and understanding all aspects of the RFDS business, and then using this knowledge to drive positive change and engagement within the organisation.
